Our story
With over eight years of experience in our online shop NordlichtKinder, where we sold Scandinavian children's room decorations and also furnished lovely children's rooms in customers' homes, it was time for us to create something new: OYKAMI in a Box.
Even back then, our customers repeatedly asked us whether NordlichtKinder also offered beautiful gifts for babies or children. Many didn't want to laboriously search for everything in various stores, but rather a ready-made, stylish gift that would bring joy and be given immediately.
OYKAMI was born out of this need. We took our passion for creative ideas, beautiful design, and loving details and developed gift boxes that make life easier while touching hearts.

Our name
The name OYKAMI is as unique as our philosophy. It is composed of the Norwegian word "Øy" (island) and the Japanese word "kami" (god). Together, they create the term "Island God" – a symbol of security, uniqueness, and the power of small moments.
Just as an island is a protected place full of peace and beauty, we at OYKAMI want to create a space where gifts are more than just things. For us, they are little gods of everyday life – symbols of joy, love, and appreciation that connect people.
